When the caries in the tooth reaches the dental nerve, which we call pulp, the person begins to feel pain. This situation, which is seen as hot cold sensitivity at the beginning, turns into mild and spontaneous pain in a few days, this period is tried to be passed because the painkillers used in this period provide temporary relief to the person. However, after a while, since the bruised nerve will be closer to the nerve, very severe pain mat starts at night and painkillers won't be effective in this case. The treatment to keep the teeth in this situation in the mouth without pulling is called root canal treatment. In addition, root canal treatment is used in the treatment of abscesses and cysts that occur in the tooth due to the death of the tooth's nerve as a result of a severe blow.

How make is root treatment?


First of all, the tooth is anesthetized with local anesthesia, after the decayed part of the tooth is thoroughly cleaned, the mouth parts of the canals are opened. Then, with appropriate tools, these canals are reached to the tip of the root. Here, an X-Ray will be taken to detect the root tip. The canals will be cleaned with canal files of certain thickness. During this cleaning, the residual tooth nerve, softened root canal sensation, and root-infecting bacteria will be removed from the tooth. 

The channels will be washed with disinfectant solutions and dried. If there is no infection in the root of the tooth, canal filling can be done in the same session, but if there is a suspicion of infection in the tooth, the canals will be filled with medication in the next session. Finally, filling will be applied to the teeth whose canals are cleaned and filled. These procedures may take 2-3 sessions, sometimes more, depending on the condition of the tooth.
