How is the operation done?
It is a painless operation performed under drop anesthesia and takes about 10-15 minutes. Visual rehabilitation is very rapid as no sutures will be placed. In addition, the risk of infection is very low. In our clinic, we operate on the first eye first and the other eye the next day. After the postoperative 1st and 4th day controls, we invite our patients for their 3rd week control. Then we invite you to the 3rd and 6th month controls.
So when can I return to work?
Generally, at the end of the 5th day, we do not mind starting dusty and non-dirty jobs (like a desk).
Does this lens implanted in the eye have a lifespan?
These lenses are lifetime, non-replaceable and do not require any maintenance.
What should I pay attention to after the operation?
Medications and eye drops prescribed after the operation should be used regularly as described. In the first month, care should be carefull not to lift heavy and not to be in dusty and dirty environments. Eyes should not be touched by hand. We do not recommend taking a shower for the first 5 days in order not to get water in the eyes. (During this process, it can be washed from the neck down)
Does lens quality matter?
Certainly this is very important. Poor quality lenses cannot provide clarity of vision. Permanent glare, moire vision and low visual acuity may develop. For this reason, you should definitely get the information of the lens to be implanted from your doctor. Research it yourself. There are also 2-focal lenses. Since these lenses also do not have a mid-range ring, mid-range vision is not clear. When it comes to choose make sure to question whether your lens is Bifocal or 3-focal.
.
Is it okay to do sports after this operation?
No. After about 1 month, you can return to your normal life and continue your sports activities.
What are the disadvantages of these lenses?
These lenses consist of nested optical rings. Therefore, they refract light more than monofocal lenses. This diffraction causes some loss of contrast level. The quality of the lens is also evaluated by how long it passes this light. A quality trifocal lens transmits 95-97% of light. In addition, due to the optical structure consisting of these rings, halos may be observed around the lights for a while after the operation. Usually, these problems disappear within an average of 3 months as the brain adapts. Therefore, the quality of the lens is veryimportant. My advice to you is to give importance to quality, not cheapness. Make sure to ask your doctor for the sticker of your lens.
